SIEG SX3.5DZP - QUILL LOCK

BOTTOM  HOME

Here is a quill lock for the Sieg SX3.5DZP.

It quickly became a nusisance having to use an allen key to lock and unlock the quill on the mill.

This simple modification does away with the allen key.

It does not take long to make.

The vibration from the mill causes the 10mm handle to joggle about and fall through the hole in the knurled barrel.
I guess the handle rotates as it falls through the hole, causing the spiral screw pattern that has formed on the surface.
